Is Killer T-Cell Therapy Available in Cabo San Lucas?
By Robyn Littlewood
Many of us over 50 truly fear the “C” word. And no, that isn’t the lady next door who keeps letting her dog poop in your yard. Cancer is one of the 4 “Killers of Aging”, along with Alzheimer’s, Heart Disease and Diabetes. Anyone can get cancer, but most cases are reported in people over the age of 50. Cancers begin when our cells get damaged and the older we get, the more cell damage builds up, which can lead to cancer. Cancer and aging are two tightly interconnected biological processes.
A 2018 study at the University of Dundee in Scotland suggested the aging immune system played a larger role in cancer incidence than previously thought. This research could have major implications for the global fight against cancer. Much of the current research looks at genetic mutations as the main cause of cancer but the Dundee study focused more on the aging, (and failing), immune system.
A primary cause of immune system aging is the shrinking of your thymus gland. This is where T cells, which circulate around your body hunting and killing dysfunctional cells or foreign agents, are produced and “educated”.
Thymic involution begins from around the age of one and the thymus roughly halves in size every 16 years, with a corresponding fall in the production of T cells. The researchers found an extremely strong correlation between the chances of certain cancers increasing and the new T cell populations falling, particularly Killer T cells. Killer T cells are a type of white blood cell that help your immune system fight germs and other attackers to protect you from disease. There are two main types: “Cytotoxic” T cells and “Helper” T cells.
There have been some advances in the pharmaceutical approach to immunotherapy of cancer in recent years but the drugs are not consistently effective in a majority of patients and cancer types. And if you aren’t a fan of pharmaceuticals, (or if you hate them like I do), you have a new option you might want to look at.
Here in Los Cabos, several of the major stem cell clinics are now offering “Killer T-Cell” therapy called Natural Killer (NK) Cell Extraction, that involves extracting, expanding and re-introducing your own cellular material. This procedure is currently only available in Mexico and Panama because cell expansion is still prohibited in most countries except Mexico and Panama. Costa Rica is also working on it also but it's not quite 100% there yet.
The legal ability to expand cells is what you want in order to get as many viable cells in you as possible. That is also why stem cell therapy generally works better here in Mexico by the way. You can extract and re-introduce or you can extract, EXPAND, and re-introduce. I will take option b thank you, and I have several times now for various regenerative and also just for vanity reasons. As far as I can tell from my own research, although I have to admit that is not exhaustive, there is no good reason to disallow expansion other than it empties money from Big Pharmas bank accounts. They make their best profits off of cancer and other so-called diseases of aging.
NK cells play a crucial role in the immune system. Their primary function is to identify and eliminate harmful cells including:
Senescent cells or what are referred to as Zombie cells. Zombie cells are cells that should die but hang around spewing reactive oxygen species and infecting the healthy cells surrounding them.
Virus-infected cells, helping prevent chronic infections and immune suppression.
Target and destroy mutated cells, reducing the risk of cancer and other genetic disorders
Boost immune surveillance, improving defense against chronic infections and autoimmune disorders
Enhance cellular regeneration, longevity and optimal health and wellness
Support recovery after illness, surgery and to accelerate healing processes
These cells work rapidly and efficiently, providing continuous surveillance against cellular damage and potential threats. Best of all it can be used as cancer prevention AND as a cancer treatment.
How Is the Killer T-Cell Treatment Performed?
A simple blood draw is taken, just like in routine lab tests. The cells are then processed to isolate and concentrate NK cells and then a personalized application back into the patient using an IV drip. The NK cells can support regenerative and longevity therapies.
Or you can stick with chemo and radiation if you prefer that approach. That works too if you survive the side-effects.
This therapy is safe, minimally invasive, and a powerful tool for proactive health management.
